Local shops are hard to find. Xamip is built to change that.
Why we started
Most local shops are invisible online. Directories list a name and a phone number, but nothing that tells a shopper what is actually worth walking to today. Reviews on ordinary listing sites can be posted by anyone, whether or not they ever set foot in the shop.
Most Indian retail is informal. A shop owner with no GST registration and no business documents is invisible to platforms that require them, which excludes the very part of the market that makes up most of local commerce: the stall, the cart, the shop with no paperwork at all.
What Xamip does
Xamip is two apps built around the same idea. The shopper app shows a feed of deals from shops near where you are right now, with offers that move from upcoming to live to expired on their own dates, so nothing goes stale. Reviews can only be written after Xamip confirms a real visit, so the ratings come from people who actually went.
Xamip Business gives shop owners a route onto the platform whether or not they have GST or PAN. Owners can mark a shop as movable if they trade from a cart or a stall, and open or close it with one switch, which is real current status rather than fixed hours. Listing a shop and publishing offers is free.

Anyone who would rather walk five minutes than wait two days, if only they could find out what is actually discounted nearby today.

Xamip does not sit in the transaction. The shop keeps the customer, the margin and the relationship. We only make the offer findable.

About Xamip
What does Xamip do?
Xamip shows you the discounts running right now in shops close enough to walk to, and gives those shops a free way to publish them. Reviews on Xamip can only be written by someone whose visit to the shop was confirmed by the app.
Is Xamip available now?
Not yet. Both apps, the shopper app and Xamip Business, are in development. Joining the waitlist is how you hear first when they launch. Xamip is being built for India.
Who runs Xamip?

Is Xamip a shop directory?
No. A directory tells you a shop exists and stays the same until somebody edits it. Xamip is about what is discounted today: every offer carries a start and an end date, and it moves from upcoming to live to expired on those dates by itself.
For shoppers
How are reviews verified?
The app has to confirm you were at the shop first. That means being within 50 metres of it and staying at least five minutes. About two hours later it asks how the visit went, and only then can you write a review. One confirmed visit allows one review, and you can review the same shop again after seven days.
Do I need an account to browse?
No. You can look at offers and shops near you without signing up. An account is only needed to follow a shop, choose which shops may notify you, or write a review.
Does Xamip deliver anything?
No. Xamip is not a delivery service and there are no delivery partners. It shows you what is on offer nearby so you can go to the shop. You pay the shop directly, exactly as you would without the app.
For shop owners
Does Xamip cost shop owners anything?
Listing a shop and publishing offers are free, and there is no commission on your sales because Xamip never handles the payment. Two things are paid: Spotlight, which promotes a shop or an offer to a wider area, and website building, which is arranged directly with the team. Neither is required to list or to post offers.
Does it work for shops without GST?
Yes, and this is deliberate. A shop with no GST or PAN can join through assisted verification instead: Aadhaar and a phone number, a photo of the owner, a photo of the shop, a selfie at the shop and a signed declaration, all reviewed by a person before the shop goes live.
What if I trade from a cart or a stall?
That is supported. A shop can be marked as movable if you trade from a cart, stall or van rather than a fixed address, and you can switch yourself open or closed in real time so nobody walks over to find you gone.
